Jamaica is a beautiful island in the Caribbean Islands just south of Cuba and west of Haiti. The island is only about 4,244 square miles wide, but it is packed with reggae culture and peaceful, beach vibes. The capital of Jamaica is Kingston, and you can recognize the national flag because of its green, yellow, and black colors. The nation's most popular religion is Christianity, and most people come from an African descent that live on the island. The official language of Jamaica is English, although most Jamaicans will tell you it is Jamaican Patois, or Jamaican Creole. This language is based around English, but heavily influenced by African cultures and languages to mix into one language. Jamaica is also a parliamentary democracy, which is a form of a constitutional monarchy. This means that Jamaica has a bicameral legislature, this is the Parliament, and has two separate leaders or people in power. The monarchy is currently under Queen Elizabeth II, and the head of government, or prime minister of Jamaica, is Hon Andrew Michael Holness. Holness is an elected official of Parliament, whereas Queen Elizabeth II is a government appointed monarch.

                                                                    Travel to Jamaica!
From Atlanta to Jamaica, a Delta plane ticket usually costs anywhere from $500 to $600. Currently, a flight to Montego Bay is $594, and takes around two hours and forty five minutes. On the other hand, you can fly to Kingston for about $556 and about three hours. Of course you can find cheaper airlines for your flights other than Delta. Many tourist resort destinations are located in Kingston, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Negril. If you are looking to fly into Montego Bay, there are resorts like Sandals Royal Caribbean, Grand Palladium Jamaica, located in Lucea, Jamaica, and Secrets Wild Orchard for around $400 a night in Montego Bay. For people looking to stay on the other side near Kingston, there are places like the Grand Port Royal Hotel and Four Seasons in Kingston. Also, the Caribbean Estate Suite located in Portmore, Jamaica. Most of the higher end hotels and resorts are located on the northern end of the island, near Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. When traveling, you will have to trade in for Jamaican dollars, one U.S. dollar is equivalent to about $130 Jamaican dollars. So, this is good for tourists as they will be able to spend more. All you will need to get on your flight is your ticket and a passport, you do not need a tourist visa to Jamaica if the stay is less than six months. There are lots of things to do in Jamaica including things like swimming, hiking, snorkeling, and zip lining. Dunn River Falls party cruise with snorkeling starts at $86 per adult, this is filled with swimming in the clear ocean and having a good time on the water for the day, rated four and a half stars. Swimming in the Blue Hole, located in Ocho Rios, is swimming in the beautiful clear "Blue Hole", starts at $75 per person and is rated five stars. Zip lining and tubing in Montego Bay starts at $185 and includes all the outdoors activities you can think of. Depending on what hotel you stay at and what you're willing to spend on activities, dinners, and anything else, you should be willing to spend at least 2,000 U.S. dollars including the flight and activities on the first vacation day.
