Jamaica is a beautiful island in the Caribbean Islands just south of Cuba and west of Haiti. The island is only about 4,244 square miles wide, but it is packed with reggae culture and peaceful, beach vibes. The capital of Jamaica is Kingston, and you can recognize the national flag because of its green, yellow, and black colors. The nation's most popular religion is Christianity, and most people come from an African descent that live on the island. The official language of Jamaica is English, although most Jamaicans will tell you it is Jamaican Patois, or Jamaican Creole. This language is based around English, but heavily influenced by African cultures and languages to mix into one language. Jamaica is also a parliamentary democracy, which is a form of a constitutional monarchy.
